Dve najbolje rangirane francuske teniserke, Marion Bartoli i Aravan Rezai, nalaze se u sred prepucavanja putem medija. Nije to toliko strašno koliko mediji preuveličavaju, nije bilo nekih naročitih uvreda, ali sigurno je da, ako se ovako nastavi, ni to nije isključeno.
Bartoli, navodno, ima problem sa tim što ne dobija onoliko zasluga koliko bi trebalo:
When I played semis in Miami, I had the impression that nobody cares. Nobody notices. You can manage the way you want. I don't care. I try and play well and win matches.
A onda, opet, u razgovoru sa La Rosom sa "Tennis Channel" kaže:
Q. You're a little more off the radar than a player with your ranking and scalp count (she's beaten, among others, Venus, Henin and Davenport). Do you feel like you get the proper attention from the media?
M. Bartoli: Do you know what? That's really not what I'm looking for, honestly. I'm not looking at that and worried about it. I'm just going on my daily basis and do my job. If I'm getting to the semifinal or the final, then I will get the attention. I'm not really worried outside of the court. I'm just trying to be myself and try to get some good results and take care of my business, which is tennis.
Aravan Rezai nije štedela reči kada je pričala o Bartoli:
Well, Marion is a difficult girl. She already attacked me two years ago when I reached the final in Istanbul. So it's a bit strange she says that, because okay, if she has a problem with me, I don't know, because I did nothing. That's a bit of a shame, but that's her education. I mean, she attacked me many times in the press. I don't have the same education as the one she has. I think I have respect for players. I do what I have to do. I get on with many people. But with Marion, it's very difficult. She has difficulties getting included with the other girls.
But it's a shame she says that, because I'm a French player, just like her. So that kind of behavior is a bit of a shame, because I never had any bad behavior towards her. I always showed respect for the other players, and I think players that deserve to be spoken about in the media, well, it's because they deserve it.
But today I'm on the Fed Cup team, I'm part of many things. I try and get included to many things, and if she's not happy, she is not that much in the media. I guess she has to make efforts just like I did. Then she has to see what she wants to say.
I kada podvučemo crtu, dobijemo šta? Ja dobijem osećaj da su obe jadne. Znate, ovo je jedna od onih stvari sa kojima se susrećemo u životu često, ali ja biram da se ne bavim ovakvim stvarima, tipa, ko šta misli o meni i slično. Tužno je da one dozvoljavaju da ovakve banalnosti izlaze u javnost. Treba ipak sačuvati i neku dozu gracioznosti, ali pretpostavljam da je to u slučaju ove dve misaona imenica.
Cela priča je u početku bila zanimljiva, ali sada je već postala previše jadna... Osim ukoliko ne počnu da se časte imenima. To bi bilo uzbudljivo, na kratko.
